We will explore the DNA of leadership shared by some of the world’s most admired tech companies.

Jean-François Cousin, a global executive coach and the Chairman of the Global Board of the International Coach Federation in 2019, will be our guest speaker.

As a recognized expert in leadership and a former senior executive, Jean-Francois will share unique insights from his first-hand experience, in his thought-provoking and experiential manner.

Our esteemed panelists will address:

  • What kind of leadership is being nurtured by the “world’s most admired companies”?
  • How does coaching help?
  • What is the impact on employees’ mindset and behaviors and on team’s agility and collaboration?
  • How do we need to be, as leaders, to support the growth of agility and collaboration in our own organizations?

Angela Natale, The Boeing Company, Chief Engineer, Product Development and Technology


Angela is currently the Chief Engineer for Product Development and Technology, Structures, Boeing Commercial Airplanes.

In her 22 years of international experience in the aeronautical field, both in engineering and management, she covered various roles: in Boeing she was previously the Senior Manager for BCA Seats and Interiors Stress. She had been, earlier, the 737-10x Airframe Manager for the Landing Gear - Test and Stress. Previously, she was the 777 Engineering Airframe Manager for Aft Fuselage; and before that, she was the BCA Product Development - Advanced Structures Technology Manager.

Prior to joining BCA in 2012, Angela worked for Alenia Aeronautica, contributing to structural development and substantiation for numerous Programs (both metal and composite). She served as Alenia’s on-site 787 Engineering Program Manager, collocated with the Boeing Everett 787 Program, with assignments both in Everett and Charleston. She previously held several other engineering leadership roles with Alenia, in support of the 787 Program and Boeing Product Development. She started her career as a stress analysis engineer.

She also served one year as Professor Assistant at the University of Naples (Italy) in Structures and Aero elasticity, working with the Italian Center for Aerospace researches ( C.I R. A.).

Angela holds a PhD in mechanical Engineer from University of Naples, Italy, as well as a Master in Aeronautical Engineer from University of Naples, Italy.  She also graduated in Additive Manufacturing with MIT in 2018; and in Modern Aircraft Structures with UW in 2017. She also holds a Certificate in Sustainable Business Strategy with Harvard University, achieved in 2019. An avid books reader, she also enjoys cooking, painting, playing volleyball, and walking her dogs.


Alvaro Celis, Microsoft Corporation, Vice President, Worldwide Device Sales 

Alvaro Celis is the Vice President of Worldwide Device Sales for Microsoft’s Consumer and Device Sales Division. Alvaro and his team are responsible for leading and enabling the global sales force driving sales of Windows Devices built by Microsoft’s global and local device partners, and the Microsoft Products and Services that are pre-installed and attached through the Channel.

Alvaro has been with Microsoft since 1992. Prior to working in OEM, he was Vice President of the Sales, Marketing, Services, IT, & Operations Group (SMSG) for Microsoft Asia-Pacific, where he led a team that was responsible for sales, marketing, consulting, customer services and technical support for all of Microsoft’s products, services and technologies in the region. Prior to that, Alvaro led operations for Microsoft’s Multi Country Americas (MCA) region, that includes the Caribbean, Central America, Bolivia, Ecuador, Paraguay and Peru. Earlier in his career, Alvaro was General Manager of Microsoft’s Venezuela subsidiary, and in Guatemala and El Salvador, where his work to develop the business resulted in these countries becoming independent Microsoft subsidiaries. In his first role at Microsoft Alvaro was the Program Manager for Servers, Operating Systems and Development Tools in Venezuela.  

Alvaro has been a leader on the transformation of the enterprise business around Cloud, Mobility, Big Data, Social and Security & Privacy, and for the consumer business around Retail, OEM and Online channels. He is a well-versed speaker on several industry topics including cloud computing, IoT, Mobility and national competitiveness.

On a personal note, he graduated cum laude from Universidad Simón Bolivar, Caracas, Venezuela, with a degree in Computer science. He is Married to Aleida Serron, and have 3 children: Alvaro, Andrea and Andres.


Garrett Vargas, Carrentals.com an Expedia Group Company, VP and CTO

Garrett is a senior corporate leader with 20+ years of global technology management roles at Microsoft and Expedia. He is an avid learner of new technologies, and actively develops on side projects with AWS and voice-based technologies.  He has been serving as an advisor for several local tech startups.  Garrett and his wife  have a son who is starting to drive, a daughter who is entering her teen years, and a Havanese dog.  Garrett has Computer Science and Mathematics degrees from Stanford and an MBA from the University of Washington.


Sandeep Krishnamurthy, Ph.D., UW Bothell, Dean, School of Business, 


Sandeep Krishnamurthy is the first Dean of the AACSB-accredited School of Business at University of Washington, Bothell. This role involves managing the School of Business as its chief academic and administrative officer, with primary responsibility for faculty, students, curriculum, budgets, and external engagement. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Arizona in marketing with a minor in Economics and attended the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) at Bombay, India for his undergraduate studies.


Janet Harvey, MA, MCC, ACS, InviteChange CEO


Experienced with individuals at the Board of Directors, “C” Chair, Executive and Senior Management levels, Janet assists executives in adopting effective habits of perception and behavior to lead and accelerate corporate strategies. Typical engagements address executive development in the following areas: articulate and inspire through clarity of vision, enable respectful challenge, debate and catalyze synergy for strategic business choices, risk/reward critical thinking about investments and shareholder value, plan leader succession and architect sustainable cultural/strategic change.

With over 30 years of executive experience, both within a corporate setting and as an entrepreneur serving organizations, Janet specializes in times of transition. Executive leaders experience accelerated growth that requires surrender of old habits and beliefs that are limiting in order to adopt an expanded capacity for a long term view of the business and the development of strategies and operating plans that enable sustainable use of both financial and human assets. A systemic approach to change – whether strategically initiated or imbedded to succession and leader development progreams – faciliates organizational learning and positive impact on attracting and retaining desired talent Janet passionately believes in liberating potential in order to maximize organizational performance.

Jean-François Cousin, MCC, has been an Executive Coach for more than a decade. Previously, he served in senior leadership positions in Asia and Europe for a global company. Jean-François coaches CEOs, CXOs and board members worldwide on topics including leadership development, board relations, strategic planning and organizational and cultural transformations.

Jean-François is dedicated to the growth of the coaching profession. He has advocated coaching to numerous corporate audiences, co-authored two books promoting coaching and written Game Changers at the Circus about unleashing greatness in organizations with a coaching culture.

Jean-François serves as the 2019 ICF Global Board Chairman.
